DAY ONE

Our airport representative will facilitate the visa process and escort you through customs and immigration then meet you in the tunnel.

 

We continue on to the baggage claim hall and finally to passenger pick up.

DAY TWO

After breakfast at your hotel a Beyond the Pyramids Representative will escort you to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt. The Memphis Open Air Museum is home to the colossus of Rameses II, the alabaster sphinx and ancient ruins in the open air museum.

After Memphis we continue on your tour and visit Saqqara. We will explore King Djoser's Necropolis where the Step Pyramid (first pyramidal shape) ever built is located. Included is a  visit one of the tombs located within the necropolis.

Enjoy afternoon lunch with time to relax and refresh before continuing on to the Giza Plateau.

The tour itself begins on the Giza Plateau, with a panoramic view of nine pyramids, including the Great Pyramid of Giza, the only remaining Seven Wonders of the World. You will have the opportunity to step into past with an exploration of the Great Pyramid and the wonders it beholds. Next we move to the Sphinx, the valley temple and learn how the ancient Egyptians mummified their kings.

COLLOSUS OF RAMESES II

DAY THREE

After breakfast at your hotel a Beyond the Pyramids Representative will escort you to the Egyptian Museum to discover ancient relics for about 2-hours depending upon your time constraints. Marvel at the golden valuables in the Tutankhamen room which contains more than 1,500 precious artifacts. Free entry into the Animal Mummy Room. For an extra fee you can visit the famous Mummy Hall housing Rameses II mummy.

 

This afternoon we will tour Coptic Cairo, visit the Citadel of Saladin and the Mohammed Ali Alabaster Mosque. Coptic Cairo contains the early religious monuments of the city. For example, the hanging church, Saint Sergeis which is said to have housed Mary and Jesus for about 3-months. We will then visit the famous Jewish heritage in Cairo including the Ben Ezra Synagogue the temple contains a Jewish heritage library, containing documents found in 1896 describing economic and social conditions of the Jewish people under Arab rule.

Your tour continues to the Citadel of Saladin where you will visit the most celebrated landmark within the citadel, the Mohammed Ali Alabaster Mosque built in the 1830’s. Rich and varied in history the mosque was built solely for Mohamed Ali, the ruler of Egypt from 1805 until 1849.

 

Enjoy afternoon lunch at a local restaurant with time for rest and regeneration.

Finish off your day with a walking tour through Khan El Khalili Bazaar. El Khalili Bazaar dates back to the 13th century AD. Enjoy mint tea or Mango juice on Al-Fashawy coffee.

Optional: Savor dinner on 5-star Nile cruise ship! Spend 2-hours enjoying the cruise ship dinner options plus be entertained by belly dancers and a Tanura show‬ (8:00 pm to 10:00 pm).

ISLAMIC CAIRO

Egyptian Museum, Coptic Cairo, Citadel and Khan El Khalili Bazaar

DAY FOUR

At 7:00 am, a Beyond the Pyramids Representative will drive you to Alexandria (3-hours), the second largest city in Egypt. Alexandria, known as "The Pearl of the Mediterranean", has an atmosphere that is more Mediterranean than Middle Eastern.

While in Alexandria we will tour the Roman Amphitheater that was discovered in the excavations of the site of Paneion or Park of Pan in Kom el-Dikkah. Then on to Pompey's Pillar The pillar is a triumphal monument erected around 300 AD for the Roman Emperor Diocletian, but the true significance of this archeological site is what stood here before the pillar. It is the site of the Serapeum, Alexandria’s acropolis. 

Finally, explore the catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa (meaning "Mound of Shards") is a historical archaeological site and is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages. The Tri-cilium is an area where relatives sat on stone benches to feast the dead.

Enjoy afternoon lunch at a local restaurant with time for rest and regeneration.

 

Then visit  the Library of Alexandria (shrine of the Muses), one of the largest and significant libraries of the ancient world. 

 

End your tour with a photo shoot of Qiatbey's Citadel's exterior.

Your Beyond the Pyramids Representative will drive you to your hotel. Arriving around 7:00 pm for your overnight stay in Cairo.

DAY FIVE

After breakfast, a Beyond the Pyramids Tour representative will arrange private transfer to the airport. Flight time from Alexandria to Sharm is 1-hr 15-min.

Your Beyond the Pyramids Representative will drive you to your hotel for your overnight stay in Sharm.

Free time to spend in Sharm.
